Govt plans to launch `e-syllabus`

KARACHI: The special assistant to the chief minister on information, science and technology, Dr Sikandar Shoro, on Wednesday announced that the provincial government was planning to launch e-syllabus for primary schools in an attempt to provide the latest technology at grass-roots level.

While distributing 200 computers to government schools at his office, he said that the government was committed to providing the latest scientific and technical education to the youth to equip them to face challenges of the modern world.

`It is the need of the hour that we provide technical education to our new generation which will be helpful to them in theirprofessional life,` a statement issued by the Sindh information department quoted Mr Shoro as saying.

`The computers are being provided to those schools which have enough number of enrolled students, availability of a computer teacher and internet connectivity.

There are clear directives from the chief minister to provide computers at the school level across the province,` he added.
