ISLAMABAD: Pakistan lost their fourth consecutive tie in the on-going Junior Davis Cup on Thursday after New Zealand beat them 4-1 at Kuchung, Malaysia. The tie was played for ranking positions from nine to 12.

Earlier, Thailand, India and South Korea beat Pakistan.

In the first singles match, New Zealand`s Nicholas Francis Beamish eased past Huzafia Abdul Rehman 6-1,6-0 while Reece Falck thrashed Muhammad Shoaib, 6-1, 7-5.

Apparently, after winning both singles and getting an unassailable 2-0 lead, the New Zealanders conceded their match and Pakistan was given walkover.

`I don`t know, the reason of walkover, but I can guess, may be the administration of New Zealand wanted to give rest to their players, said a former tennis player.

The doubles was to be held between Corban James Hercules Crowther paring with Reece Falck and Huzaif a Abdul Rehman.

A total of 16 teams are participating in this event and Pakistan team will face Pacific Oceania on Friday for the 13th and 14th position.

In case of another defeat, Pakistan will play another match for bottom positions 15th and 16th.
