Kohat to have logistics points for Afghans` repatriation

KOHAT: The district administration has said logistics points would be established to facilitate the early repatriation of the Afghan refugees.
The decision was taken at a jirga of the Afghan elders, assistant director of Afghan refugee camps, the police and administration officials chaired by deputy commissioner Abdul Akram Chitrali here the other day.
On the occasion, Mr Chitrali said nobody would be forced or arrested by the police for repatriation.
He directed the officials to make a comprehensive strategy for Afghans` respectful repatriation.
The elders assured that they would hold meetings with Afghans to create awareness among them that now the government had made a final decision to repatriate them in an honourable manner. According to the authorities, there are over 100,000 Afghans housed in the eight refugee camps across the district.
MAN ROBBED: Robbers snatched Rs20,000 and a mobile phone from an ice-cream seller, who was injured upon resistance in Lachi tehsil on Saturday.
Rescue 1122 spokesman Jawad Afridi said that they shifted the wounded, Mohammad Sajjad, a resident of Multan district, to the KDA Hospital after giving him first aid.
He said the man was fired in the arm when he put up resistance to the robbery attempt.
An FIR was registered on the complaint of the injured man.
