KARACHl: Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Junior, the son of slain politician Mir Murtaza Bhutto, on Saturday said that he was not joining the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA).
In a video message, he said that some people in the opposition alliance were in favour of the corporate farming initiative, but he could not deceive his people. `My path is different, I am going on a different journey, I hope you all will support me,` he added.
Zulfikar Junior`s statement came against the backdrop of a GDA-Save Indus River Movement meeting he attended where he announced his support for their struggle against canals project.
In his video message, he said that many people were worried that he was joining the GDA. `But I am not joining the GDA, you should not worry,` he said.
Following his video message that made rounds on the social media, GDA General Secretary Dr Safdar Abbasi said in a statement that the alliance considered selling province`s lands to foreign companies and capitalists under the guise of corporate farming `a betrayal of the soil of Sindh`.
