By Our CorrespondentSAHIWAL: A 25-yearold rickshaw driver was electrocuted while attempting to remove a fallen wire in front of the deputy commissioner`s office on College Road on Friday.
Reports said Fahad was heading towards College Chowk when he noticed a wire lying on the road. Believing it to be an internet cable, he stopped his rickshaw and tried to remove the wire to prevent others fromgetting entangled.
However, the wire turned out to be live, and as soon as he touched it, he was electrocuted.
Witnesses described the scene, saying Fahad fell in the middle of the road and died instantly.
Rescue 1122 personnel pronounced him dead at the scene and the Civil Line police took custody of the body.
Later, the deceased was shifted to Sahiwal Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
