Students, teachers of Dir school hold awareness walk

LOWER DIR: Government Girls Community Model School Dheri Talash organised an awareness walk on Saturday as part of the ongoing enrolment campaign on the directives of district education department.

The walk was led by the sub-divisional education officer, Naseem Begum, the assistant sub-divisional education officer, Nehar Iqbal, and headmistress of the school, Nargus Begum.

Holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans highlighting the importance of education, the participants of the walk marched on Dheri Talash road, drawing attention of people to the cause.

The staff and students of the school had made thorough preparations to make the campaign a success.

Speaking at a ceremony held on the school premises, Naseem Begum urged female teachers to play active role in making the enrolment drive a success.

Emphasising the significance of girls` education, she remarked that an educated mother could better serve her family, community and the nation at large.

She said that the enrolment campaign was in full swing in all girls` schools in the district, with efforts under way to persuade out-of-school girls to enroll through various means.
