K-Electric `amnesty`

2015-05-13
THE proper definition of the term amnesty refers to a pardon that is provided either by the government or an entity to a person or a group of individuals.

I reside in an area where electricity usually goes off for three to four hours, so I am told that my area has losses.

Yes, there are many people in Karachi who do not pay their monthly bills and most resort to illegal connections as a result of which good customers suffer every day.

I appreciate that K-Electric has started this campaign and I hope they deal strictly with these culprits because all good customers are sick of bearing the brunt.

Coming back to the amnesty bit, I hope that people who are involved in electricity theft go to the company to resolve their pending dues because it is due to them that good customers suffer.

The amnesty is for 15 days which I think is a generous offer by K-Electric. But knowing the sort of people we have become, it still won`t be enough as some defaulters and thieves might try to evade it.
