PML-N`s tall claims

2015-05-13
ALL the time Ishaq Dar is beating the drum that due to the prudent policy of the government our economic indicators are improving with each passing day.

I would like to ask him what improvement has appeared in the miserable lives of the masses. He claims that with the improvement in the macro-economic situation, inflation is continuously on a downward trajectory and has plunged down to 3pc, the lowest in the last 13 years.

To add insult to injury, Nawaz Sharif recently declared that `inflation is a thing of the past`. With rising inflation everywhere, even a child can see this is not the reality. It is rather a cruel joke with this hapless nation. Was the PML-N overwhelmingly voted to power to deliver these packs of lies? All this is being done just to please the IMF and World Bank by fudging the inflationary data to meet the criterion for obtaining another tranche of the loan.

However, this fictitious easing of inHationary pressure hasled the State Bank to cut its policy rate drastically in the last six months after 1(eeping its monetary policy unchanged for a long time. This has come as a blow to the poor account holders who had invested their savings in various banking schemes and were relying on its profits as the only form of income for their existence.

Is the State Bank aware of their plight? Fuad E nver Islamabad
