THATTA: The Indian Coast Guard personnel captured a vessel with six Pakistani fishermen on board when they were busy catching fish near Sir Creek and escorted them away early on Friday morning, according to the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF), a non-governmental organisation.
PFF coordinator Syed Gulab Shah told journalists here that the fishermen were in an area near Sir Creek, about 50 nautical miles from Shahbandar that fell within Pakistani limits, when the Indians overpowered them at gunpoint and took them away along with their catch and the vessel.
They were identified as Allah Bachayo Mallah, Mustafa Mallah, Edu Mallah, Hussain, Siddiq and Pervez Mallah, all residents of Shahbandar taluka, Sujawal district, he said.
PFF chairperson Syed Mohammad Ali Shah condemned the trespass by the Indian Coast Guard personnel into Pakistani territorial waters and demanded immediate release of the detained fishermen.
