MIRPURKHAS: Lawyers boycotted courts` proceedings and took out a procession on the premises of district and session court on Thursday to commemorate the tragic day when terrorists gunned down over 50 people in Karachi this day in 2007.

The lawyers led by District Bar Association president Shoukat Rahimoon, Sher Muhammad Wassan, Ghulam Nabi Mevo and others demanded the government arrest all the accused in May 12 mayhem cases and award them exemplary punishment. The leaders deplored that 15 years ago this day terrorists at the behest of a military dictator had killed 52 people, including lawyers, and injured over 150 but their killers were still at large.

They urged the government to ensure arrest of all the culprits.

Meanwhile, hundreds of litigants who had visited the court to attend hearing of their cases had to face great inconvenience because of the boycott.
