Four injured in gas cylinder blast in Multan

BAHAWALPUR: Four people suffered burns in a gas cylinder fire at a house in Ali Park area of Qasim Bela locality, Multan, on Monday.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Arshad Bhutta, the fire erupted following an LPG cylinder leak, injuring four individuals namely Muhammad Asim (19), Muhammad Asif (21), Mohsin Shah (42) and Zohaib Akhtar (20). Rescue teams quickly reached the scene, extinguished the fire, and provided first aid to the injured.

Muhammad Asim, who suffered serious burns, was shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, where he is currently receiving treatment.

A police team also arrived at the site to investigate the incident.

BULLOCKS RACE: Ram policestation in Lodhran district arrested10 persons andbooked20 others for organising bullocks` race at Chah Musa in Wahi Bhakkar on Monday.

According to police sources, Riaz Arian and his associates had organised the race, which drew a large crowd and involved heavy betting worth several lakhs of rupees. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the event, arrested 10 people on the spot, and seized their mobile phones.

A case was registered against 20 others,andfurtherraids are being carried out to arrest the remaining suspects.

MURDER: One Umar was killed on resistance during a dacoity attempt by two unidentified motorcyclists in the limits of Kabirwala police station in Khanewal district on Monday.

Reports said Umar along with his son was going on a motorcycle to purchase dowry for his daugh-ter. When they reached the outskirts of Kabirwala, two unidentified dacoits on motorcycle came and attempted to snatch their bike. When Umar put up resistance, one of the dacoits allegedly shot him dead.

Kabirwala police reached the scene and shifted the body to THQ hospital for postmortem examination and registered a case against unidentified dacoits.

PECA ACT: City Yazman police in Bahawalpur district on Monday booked Dr.Imran Azam, medical officer at THQ hospital, under Peca Act for sharing an objectionable post on a shopkeeper`s WhatsApp on Monday.

According to FIR No. 290/25, the complainant, Haji Khalil Ahmed, a gas cylinder shopkeeper, reported receiving the post and submitted a printed copy of it as evidence with his complaint.

Dr. Azam`s arrest has not been confirmed.
