E-registration system down for five days

SARGODHA: The public has been facing difficulties due to the suspension of the online e-registration system for land trading in Sargodha for the past five days.
Despite numerous complaints to the commissioner, deputy commissioner and additional deputy commissioner, the system has not been restored. This is causing daily losses of millions to the government treasury.
Dawn has learned that, in the absence of the digital system, people have resorted to property tradingusingtraditionalstamp papers, which is causing severe financial damage to the government.
Citizens have appealed to the chief minister to take immediate notice of the system`s prolonged outage.
ACE RAID: An official of the Khushab Local Funds Audit Department was arrested by the AntiCorruptionEstablishment (ACE) while receiving a bribe of Rs50,000 from a government contractor in exchange for bill clearance.
On the complaint of Tafseer Hussain, a trap raid was conducted by ACE officer Atif Shaukatin the presence of Magistrate Abid Hussain.
The complainant stated that he had completed iron block schemes for the municipal committees of Jauharabad and Khushab, but officials of the Khushab District Council`s Local Funds Audit demanded heavy bribes for payment clearance.
ENCOUNTER: A hardened criminal was arrested in an injured condition following an alleged police encounter in the jurisdiction of Jhal Chakian police.
According to police sources, the suspect, Sanam Keerra, was injured by gunfire from his own accomplices during the encounter. He was later taken into custody.
KILLED: Two brothers were killed and another person injured following a dispute over irrigation water in Ajnala, about 14 kilometres from Sargodha.
Ehsan and his brother Faisal reportedly got into an argument with opponents over their irrigation turn. The conflict escalated, and gunfire ensued, resulting in the deaths of both brothers and injuries to another individual. Correspondent
