THE Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP)of fice has clarified a report published in Dawn`s June 10 issue under the headline, `Khuzdar women protest against phone firm`.

According to BISP, since it replaced the practice of payment through the Pakistan Post with the Biometric Verification System in January, no complaint of deduction has been lodged by any stipend recipient.

The report had quoted a representative of the protesters as saying that the mobile phone company entrusted with the disbursementof stipendwasdeductingRs900fromeachwoman.
