NAROWAL: A medical college student was injured by a robber while resisting a robbery on Sunday.

She was identified as Mashal Nasir, the daughter of businessman Nasir Mahmood, a resident of Rehmanpura, Sialkot, a third-year student at the Sialkot Medical College, Daska Road.

Mashal was going to a private hospital for practicals along with other students after finishing her class at the college when an unidentified armed robberappeared there on a motorcycle and stopped the students at gunpoint.

A masked robber took off the gold chain from around Mashal`s neck and snatched her handbag.

When he tried to snatch the mobile phone from her, she resisted and the robber opened fire, causing fatal injuries to her.

The robbers ned the scene and Mashal was rushed to hospital.

The Motra Police Station has registered a case against an unidentified robber on the complaint of Mashal`s father.
