Two gunmen killed in encounter

OKARA: Two suspects were killed while their two accomplices fled after an encounter with police late on Saturday near village 16/1R. The Satgrah police said their mobile team was alerted informed by called Awais Javed in 16/1R`s Chaddhar Chowk that four gunmen had broken into his farmhouse. When the police arrived at the scene, suspects started firing at them, which was retaliated by the police in selfdefense.

After sometimes, the police found two gunmen dead and both fell victims to the bullets of their own accomplices.

The caller`s family, including Abu Bakar and Shahid Iqbal, claimed that the gunmen tookaway Rs26,000, a mobile phone and a golden ring from them. The police recovered cash, a golden ring and phones beside weapons and a motorcycle at the scene.

On the report of SI Muhammad Arshad, the police registered a case under section 392, 302, 353,323,186and34 ofthe Pakistan Penal Code besides sections 13-2(a), 2(b) of the Punjab Arms Amendment Ordinance of 2015 and the Punjab Arms Ordinance-13 of 1965.

The deceased were idendhed as Shahzad, alias Sajo, of 25/2R, wanted in 33 dacoity and robbery cases, while Abdus Sattar, of village 14/GD, was wanted in 22 cases of dacoity and robbery.

The bodies were handed over to their families.
