ICC non-admittance

2025-06-13
KARACHI: The Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in Pakistan, Justice A.R. Cornelius, placed the blame for the non-admittance of Pakistan to the Imperial Cricket Conference squarely on the shoulders of the MCC, writes the APP sports editor. `We get the impression that we are not wanted in the world family of cricket,` he declared in the first major official statement on Pakistan`s viewpoint vis-à-vis her longpending application before the premier Commonwealth cricketing body.

`The MCC Secretary,` Justice Cornelius said, `at every step we take, tells us there are insurmountable difficulties in our way and we must put our hopes in cold storage for an indefinite period. He also points out breaches of rules, but does not favour us with a copy of the rules at any stage. We get the impression that we are not wanted in the world family of cricket, and that is one reason why the board is not keen as it was to entertain teams from abroad.` ... Justice Cornelius: `We are continuing our efforts to get a hearing for our best claim viz. that we are as good members of the Conference as India... . ...` News agencies
