PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would observe the third Youm-i-Shuhada on August 4 to commemorate the sacrifices of police personnel.
In this respect, a meeting of journalists and police officers was held at the Central Police Office here on Wednesday to discuss the media outreach to observe the martyrs day.
AIG headquarters Mohammad Ashraf Noor, who presided over the meeting, solicited suggestions from the journalists to commemorate the police martyrs day in a befitting manner. He said KP police had offered the highest number of sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
First Youm-i-Shuhada was observed back in 2015. On August 4, 2010, the then commandant of Frontier Constabulary Safwat Ghayur was martyred in a suicide attack on his vehicle near the paramilitary force headquarters. -Bureau Report
