KARACHI: A vegetable seller was shot dead while his friend was injured in Baldia Town the other day, according to a police officer.

Both friends were travelling in a Suzuki pick-up when armed pillion riders attacked them near Kala Khan Chowk in Rasheedabad. They sustained critical bullet wounds and were transported to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi where Syed Asadullah, 35, was pronounced dead on arrival while Ihsanullah, 25, got admitted for treatment.

The police officer said the victim had a shop where he sold vegetables. He was living alone here. He suspected some personal enmity behind the murder.

Police have registered the murder case against unknown suspects on the complaint of the injured person.
