Relief, allowances announced for govt employees, pensioners

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced sanctioned ad-hoc relief allowance of 10 per cent of the basic pay to all civil employees with ef fect from July 1, 2018.
This decision would also cover contingent paid staff and contract employees. The amount will be subject to income tax.
Pension: The government has also sanctioned with effect from July 1 the increase in minimum pension from Rs6,000 to Rs10,000 to its civil pensioners.
The family pension allowed to the family of a retired government employee has also been increased from current rate of Rs4,500 to Rs7,500 while the rate of minimum pension would be Rs15,000 for the civil pensioners of the Sindh government who are 75 years of age or more.
Similarly the rate of minimum f amily pension would be Rs11,250 for the family of pensioners who are 75 years or more.Conveyance rates: The government has also sanctioned the enhancement of existing rates of conveyance charges by 50 per cent for late sitting with effect from July 1.
Besides, a 10pc increase has also been made in net pension to all civil pensioners of the Sindh government.
House rent: The government has also allowed an increase in the House Rent Allowance by 50pc.
Registration number of vehicles Provincial Caretaker Minister for Irrigation, Inter-Provincial Coordination, Public Health Engineering and Rural Development, Excise and Taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has asked the Sindh excise and taxation department and police to take appropriate action against those vehicles` owners, who are plying their vehicles on roads without official registration number plates, or with fancy numbers plates or with applied for registration (AFR) number plates, etc.
