Peace march in Bajaur today

BAJAUR: All bazaars and trade centres will remain shut and public transport will also be off the roads during the highly-anticipated `peace march` in Bajaur district on Sunday (today).
This was announced by Haji Sardar Khan, head of the organising committee of the peace march, after a meeting here on Saturday.
Talking to reporters, Sardar Khan, who is also the general secretary of Jamaat-i-1slami`s local chapter, said that both the inter-district and intra-district public transport would stay off the roads.
Mr Khan, accompanied by several members of the organising committee, told reporters that thedecision to keep all the bazaars and trade centres shut was made in consultations with the leaders of traders and transporters` associations.
He said that traders and transporters had vowed to actively participate in the peace march.
Sardar Khan said that all arrangements had been finalised for the peace march to make it a success. He said the venue of the peace rally had been changed from the Bajaur Sports Complex in Khar to the main Khar-Nawagai Road.
The members of the organising committee said that people from different walks of life, including political, social, and religious figures, traders, farmers, youths, and students, would participate in the march.
