Peshawar police get new chief

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Nasir Khan Durrani on Friday transferred Mardan Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mohammad Tahir Khan and appointed him Capital City police Officer (CCPO), Peshawar.

A notification issued here from the Central Police Office said that another PSP officer of BS-19 Ijaz Ahmed had been posted as RPO Mardan. Mr Ahmed had served as CCPO Peshawar till last August, when he went abroad to attend a fellowship and was currently awaiting posting.

Tahir Khan belonging to Charsadda joined police service in 1999. He served as under training ASP in Kohat and since then has served in various capacities across the province, including ASP Akora Khattak and University Town Peshawar, SP city and Cantt Peshawar, DPO Nowshera, SSP operations Peshawar and SSP National Highways and Motorways Police.

Mr Tahir has done MSc in human resource management from Manchester University, and also has an MBA and a Hubert Humphrey fellowship back in 2011-12.
