KARACHl: Another young man was found shot dead on Friday in the same Mauripur area where two bodies had been spotted a day earlier, according to police and hospital officials. The officials said the corpse was floating in the storm-water drain near Mauripur Truck Stand. It was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for a post-mortem examination, the police added.

`The victim, aged between 25 and 30 years, had sustained nine gunshot wounds on different parts of his body,` said senior medico-legal officer Dr Qarar Ahmed Abbasi.

The victim wore commando style T-shirt and pants. The corpse appeared to be three to four days old. From his appearance, he looked Baloch, the police said.

On Thursday, two unidentified young men were found shot dead near the truck stand in Mauripur. One of them was sprayed with bullets while the other sustained a single bullet wound in his chest. They, too, looked Baloch, according to the MLO.Features of the victims were partially identifiable, said Dr Ahmed. However, he added, DNA samples of all the three deceased had been taken to ascertain their identity.

Mauripur SHO Sohail Ahmed told Dawn that the police believed that all the three persons had been gunned down the same day.
