Short-lived relief after rain

LAHORE: Heavy rain in southern parts of the city on Sunday afternoon was a relief against the prevailing mugginess but it also inundated low-lying areas and affected power supply.
There was light rain in the eastern parts of the city while it drizzled in the downtown.
Heavy rain was reported from Gulberg, Faisal Town, Johar Town and colonies around them.
The Met department said weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershower with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Kashmir and Islamabad.
Rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Islamabad, while at isolated places in Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Mardan, D I Khan, Zhob, Faisalabad, Sarghodha divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan in the next 24 hours.
Isolated heavy falls are also expected in Rawalpindi, Hazara divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, swelling the rivers Jhelum and Chenab.
