Lawyers observe strike over arrest of colleague`s brother in murder case

TOBA TEK SINGH: On the call of the Faisalabad District Bar Association, lawyers observed a strike in Faisalabad and other districts of the division on Tuesday to condemn the arrest of a brother of Punjab Bar Council member Imtiaz Ahmad Loona by Jaranwala police.
Lawyer staged a protest outside Faisalabad CPO office and shouted slogans against the police.
Bar president Rana Shahid Munir Manj and General Secretary of Faisalabad DBA Rana Shahid Munir Manj and Rana Babar Khan claimed that Punjab Bar Council member Imtiaz Ahmad Loona`s brother Shahbaz Ahmad Loona went to office of Jaranwala SP Bilal Sulehri on Monday to join investigation in a murder case registered against him.He had got bail before arrest from an anti-terrorism court of Faisalabad but he was arrested in a previous FIR in a triple murder case. They claimed that Shahbaz was declared innocent and police had arrested him illegally.
Faisalabad Judicial Magistrate Samar Hayat sent Shahbaz on 14 days judicial remand to jail.
ACCIDENT: A man died and three members of his family were injured critically when their two motorcycles were hit by a car near Chak 212-RB on the Samundri-Rajana Road in Faisalabad.
Rescue 1122 officials said Muhammad Riaz (50) and others were on their way to Faisalabad on two motorcycles from their home at Chalc 205-RB when a car coming from the opposite direction ran over their motorcycles. As a result, all of them were wounded.
They were shifted to the Samundri Tehsil Headquarters Hospital whereRiaz succumbed to his injuries while his two sons Saud (22) and Dawood (18) and cousin Nasir (38) were injured.
FESCO: A massive crackdown against electricity theft by the Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco) is in progress and 363 electricity thieves have been caught from the region so far in the last few days.
A spokesperson for Fesco said the FIRs against the thieves had been registered while millions of rupees of fine had also been collected from them.
MURDER: A youth killed his friend after an exchange of harsh words at Habib Town on Jhang Road, Faisalabad.
Complainant Muhammad Imran informed the Jhang Bazaar police that his son, Muhammad Rehan, was present at home when his friend, Ali, forced his entry into the house. He opened fire on Rehan and killed him on the spot before fleeing.
