SIALKOT: Sambrial police have arrested two members of a police patrol who would allegedly loot people on road after performing their duty.
Reports said landlord Mohsin Raza of Gadiyaala-Daska was on his way back home after receiving his guests at Sialkot airport when he recognised two police patrol constables Faryad Husain and Mirza Zubair Baig, who were on duty there. The landlord said both had allegedly looted him a few months ago near Sambrial.
On his complaint, the Sambrial police arrested them.
Sambrial SHO Inspector Rana Tariq Nadeem said both had confessed to committing robberies. He said the sus-pects were running an inter-district gang of robbers who had been looting the people for the last two years in and around Sambrial and Sialkot airport.
The SHO quoted the suspects as saying that two dismissed constables Adil and Ashfaq were their accomplices.
Police were raiding for arrest of others.
He said the suspects used to sell the looted articles in various parts of Azad Kashmir.
Police have recovered several motorcycles and jewel1ery from Faryad Hussain, Mirza Zubair and their accomplice Zahid.
Police have sent the suspects behind the bars after registering a case against them. Further investigation is underway.
