LAHORE: PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz`s son Junaid Safdar`s marriage to former accountability bureau head Saifur Rehman`s daughter Ayesha Saif has ended in a divorce.

Junaid Safdar, grandson of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, has confirmed the separation.

On Instagram, Junaid confirmed the news of parting ways with Ayesha. `News about my divorce is true. This is an entirely private matter and I request the media to respect our privacy. I hope with this decision we find our peace. I wish her well.` The Junaid-Ayesha union had taken place amid grand nikah and rukhsati ceremonies in the United Kingdom and Pakistan in 2021.
