SWAT: Three persons, including a woman, died and 29 others sustained injuries in different incidents here on Thursday, the police said.

Kabal police officials said that a speeding passenger coach veered off the road in Kotlai area, and ended up in a ditch, killing a woman and injuring 29 others, including women and children.

Rescue teams promptly transported the injured individuals to Kabul Hospital, with 22 of them in critical condition. The injured were then referred to Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital in Saidu Sharif.

In a separate incident occurred in Matta tehsil`s Gerbanr area, a person lost his life when a saw broke and struck his throat, resulting in a fatal injury. The victim was identified as Fazal Nawab, who was operating a petrol-powered saw at his father-in-law`s residence when the accident occurred.

Also, body of a man was recovered from the Swat River in Damana area of Madyan.

The Madyan police reported that based on information from local residents, rescue teams arrived at the scene and transported the body to the hospital. The deceased was identified as Shah Jahan, hailing from Shahgram area of Chail Madyan.

Meanwhile, a student had his mobile phone snatched on the main road in Qambar area on Thursday morning.

Local civil society activists expressed their apprehension about a surge in theft and mobile phone snatching incidents. Correspondent
