PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Wednesday arrested two officials of the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) allegedly involved in illegal allotment of a precious plot at Hayatabad Township on very nominal price for 33 years in violation of the rules.
The two include director Ikramullah Khan and deputy director Mohammad Jan. In the instant case, the NAB has already arrested another director, ljaz Afzal, and allottee of the land, Raz Mohammad. However, they were granted bail by the Peshawar High Court a few days ago. The NAB claimed that during the course of investigation it came to surface that five kanals had been allotted to Raz Mohammad through non-transparent bidding process.
It was revealed that Ikramullah Khan being the technical member of the committee to evaluate technical proposals of the bidders had criminally violated the rules and facilitated illegal award of the contract. It is alleged that Mohammad Jan illegally issued NOC in violation of the approved terms of reference for establishment of a family entertainment park.
