NAWABSHAH: A gang of dacoits kidnapped two policemen after an encounter at a picket near Tharu Shah town of Naushahro Feroze district on Sunday. A little later, they killed one of them and wounded the other.

Bhria City DSP Habibur Rehman Lashari told the media that constables Jabir Rajput and Sudhir Larik had signalled the suspects to stop but they opened fire, which was returned. He said the gang overpowered the policemen and took them away at gun point.

At some distance, near Sehra minor (irrigation channel), the gang shot dead Jabir and wounded Sudhir, the DSP said, adding that a hunt for the gangsters was underway.
