Seventy-five years ago U.S. Foreign Aid

KARACHI: U.S. Foreign Aid may be extended to non-European countries soon.

Possibilities of early legislation by the US Congress to extend the scope of the Aid were forecast by members of the Senate Appropriations Special SubCommittee who arrived in Karachi on Saturday afternoon [Nov 12], on a round-the-world tour. `We are called upon by many countries to help. What the extent and the scope of this help is going to be is what we have come to find out,` the Senators told newsmen at Mauripur Airfield.

They said they were out to `learn` about countries which had already received or were expecting monetary or military aid from the USA.

The Sub-Committee consists of Senators Allen J. Ellender, Theodore Francis Green, Homer Ferguson, and William E. Jenner.

They will stay in Karachi for three days the longest they stayed in any country.

Senator Ellender, Chairman of the Special Sub-Committee, told newsmen that their world tour `may be` of great importance to the US Senate Appropriations Committee the `Guns and Butter Committee` as it was called. Staff correspondent
