T HIS is with reference to the letter `MDCAT exam and frustration` (Dec 9).
Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) successfully conducted the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), which was held on a single day through provincial public universities following a common curriculum.
In order to facilitate candidates across Pakistan, the examination date had been extended so that those from flood-affected areas may also take part.
After receiving complaints from the candidates after the examination, the vice-chancellors of all the relevant public universities were directed to have the answer sheets re-checked, and to address any discrepancyfoundin the examination paper.
The re-checking process lasted five days (Nov 23-27). Students were advised to visit the website of their respective exam-conducting university to apply for re-checking.
In case of any errors in the examination paper, they were asked to contact the university concerned while keeping in mind the simple fact that all the exam-conducting universities had formulated the MDCAT paper in line with the common syllabus.
