IT centre inaugurated at UVAS Ravi Campus in Pattoki

KASUR: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha inaugurated on Wednesday the IT Centre completed at a cost of Rs54.8 million at Ravi Campus in Pattoki.

According to varsity sources, the centre had been completed within two years with the funds provided by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) under a project named `Strengthening of IT Facilities at City and Other Campuses of Lahore`.

The university claimed to have constructed the building by utilising its own resources (Rs17 million) while the HEC provided Rs58.8m for the provision of IT equipment. A video conference room has also been built.

Prof Pasha said the IT Centre was a great contribution to the Ravi Campuswhich would help students in keeping pace with the modern time.

Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Prof Dr Anjum Khalig and Muhammad Rizwan Saleem were also present.

ROBBER KILLED: An alleged robber was killed by his own accomplices near Raiwind Road in the limits of the A-Division police station on Wednesday.

The A-Division received a call that some people were exchanging fire near Elite City. Police reached there and found a seriously injured person who revealed his identity as Javed Tahir alias Jaida.

He said he was shot at and injured by his accomplices.

He was shifted to the DHQ Hospital where he died. Police found a pistol from the spot.

Police claimed the dead person was a criminal who was involved in 34 cases of robbery, dacoity, encounter and illegal arm cases in Kasur and Lahore.
