ISLAMABAD: On the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) has established a helpline to address the complaints of patients.
Moreover, it has been decided that at least one senior doctor of every specialty will be available in the hospital round the clock.
According to spokesperson Dr Mubashir Mushtaq Daha, the decision has been made to ensure quality medical facilities for every patient.
`In case of an emergency or complaint, patients or their attendants can contact at helpline number 0519071711. Moreover, a number of signboards have been placed in the hospital for the convenience of the patients and their attendants,` he said.
Pims Executive Director Dr Rana Imran Sikander said that the hospital gets thou-sands of patients in the outpatient department (OPD) on dailybasis.
`Prime Minister`s Coordinator Dr Malik Mukhtar, during his visit, had also directed to facilitate the patients,` he said.
He said that considering the direction it had been decided that senior doctors would remain in the hospital round the clock so that they could tackle emergency cases without lag of time.
Earlier, senior doctors remained on call and in case of emergency they were called to reach hospital and attend the patient.
Dr Sikander claimed that every call at the helpline would be taken seriously and all possible efforts would be made to address the complaint. He also claimed that free of cost medicines were being provided to thousands of patients daily. Staff Reporter
