KOHAT: Speakers at a function held here the other day criticised the `discrimination` against women in the society and termed the `silence` over the practice as equal to endorsing it.

International stakeholders and local community members were brought together for raising voice against the `inhuman` treatment of women.

On the occasion, UN women coordinator on rule of law for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shagufta Gul stressed that through expeditions of `rolling resistance`, they wanted to promote an environment in which communitiesrejected the excesses on girls and women, provided them with equal opportunities of development, and respected the rights of humanity.
