By A Reporter 2015-02-14
LAHORE: A young passerby was killed as guests in a wedding ceremony resorted to aerial firing outside a marriage hall on Zarar Shaheed Road on Friday.

A police source said some participants began jubilation fire outside a banquet hall and two bullets hit Rafaqat.

However, North Cantt Station House Officer Majid Bashir denied the report, claiming the marriage ceremony of Khalil was taking place when the bride’s brother, Molla, got into an argument with some relatives of the bridegroom.

The argument led to a scuffle between the two parties and they came out of the hall firing into the air. One of the bullets left Rafaqat, who belonged to Hadyara, injured, he said, adding Rafaqat was a worker at a furniture shop in Cantt area.

The injured was taken to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Police shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy and arrested the groom and his three relatives.
