SUKKUR: An office-bearer of the Pakistan Peoples Party was killed in an attack by his rivals over a running dispute over ownership of a piece of land in Mirpur Mathelo taluka in Ghotki district on Monday.
Police said that the dispute flared up between PPP Mirpur Mathelo taluka president Ghulam Nabi Waseer and his rivals, who were his relatives, leading the latter to gun him down. The body was taken to taluka hospital for a post-mortem examination, said police officials.
Three huts gutted A fire completely destroyed three mudthatched houses near Khanpur Mahar in Ghotki district.
A spark from a stove in one hut flared up the fire which quickly engulfed the two adjacent houses.
The huts` owners llahi Bux, Ahmed and Ali Mohammad Malik said the fire completely burnt down their houses along with all their belongings.
