LARKANA: Parents of a seven-year-old boy, who was kidnapped near his home in Pirzada Colony about a month ago, received a call from alleged abductors on Monday, demanding Rs30 million ransom for the boy`s release.

Shuaib Soomro, 7, went missing on Jan 4 after he went out of his home to fly kite in the locality, said his father Ihsan Soomro, adding that he reported to police at Haidri police station immediately after his son went missing but the police did nothing to search him.

`I received a call on my mobile phone from an unidentified number. A female voice from the other end demanded arranging ransom or the boy`s release and warned the failure to do so would result in his son`s death,` he said.

He said the call went viral on social media and police were also informed about it but they were still waiting for their response.
