Kidnapped boy`s body recovered, suspect held

KASUR: The Kot Radha Kishan police recovered the body of a minor boy on Monday, five days after he was kidnapped for ransom from Changa Manga Road.
The suspect was revealed to be a fruit vendor and family neighbour who kidnapped the boy for a ransom of Rs2 million.
According to the police, Muhammad Waqar, 8, son of Muhammad Javid, went missing on Thursday. The police lodged a case against unidentified kidnappers.
On Saturday, the police, with the help of CCTV footage, found the boy riding a motorcycle with an unidentified man wearing a mask. The motorcycle had no number plate. On Sunday, the police, in its traditional manner, rounded up 10 people from the area and interrogated them.During investigations, Allah Ditta, 28, confessed to kidnapping Waqar. The boy died during captivity at a shop. After the information, the police recovered the body, and shifted it to the DHQ hospital for an autopsy. Later, the body was handed over to the bereaved family.
The district police issued a press release appreciating the team for tracing the culprit in a `short span of time`. The press release, however, confirmed that the boy was kidnapped for a ransom. It nevertheless did not mention when or how the suspect demanded ransom.
According to SHO Amjad Dogar, the accused kidnapped the boy for ransom, but before he demanded ransom, the boy died in custody. Correspondent
