LAHORE: The Women Development Department organised a two-day training workshop for the officers and scholars of the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department to equip them with necessary academic skills and moral principles of gender.
Women Development Department Secretary Samira Samad said the training was organised to ensure that officers and scholars should effectively implement strategies to bring women into the mainstream and play a positive role for the betterment of society.
She said when women would have equal opportunities with men, their families and society would progress.
She said it was a responsibility of the state to play its due role in highlighting the potential of women on the basis of gender equality.
She said the training would help the government formulate laws in consideration of religious and social principles which would in turn benefit women to have equal opportunities.
