KARACHI: Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) Chairman Sheikh Umer Rehan has said speedy clearance of edible oil consignments at the ports has eliminated concerns over a potential shortage and price hike in Ramazan.
He credited Chief Collector Customs Jameel Nasir, Port Qasim Collector Nair Shafiq, and other senior officials for separating edible oil from general cargo to streamline the clearance process.
Speaking to PVMA members on Thursday, he said the supply of ghee and cooking oil would remain uninterrupted throughout Ramazan, allaying fears of price hikes due to supply constraints.
