NAROWAL: In a crackdown on Thursday, Sialkot police claimed to have arrested seven suspects and recovered a heavy quantity of fireworks from them.
District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Shahzad ordered the crackdown on those making, selling and displaying fireworks in the district on Shab-e-Barat.
A spokesperson of district police said that on the orders of the DPO, police teams used human intelligence and modern technology to nab the violators.
He said two suspects, Asif and Danish, were arrested by Head Marala police allegedly for selling fireworks.
The police have recovered a huge quantity of fireworks from the suspects and registered separate FIRs against them under sections 285 and 286 of the PPC.
He said total five shopkeepers selling fireworks have been arrested by Sialkot Saddar police, Muradpura police and Rangpura police, recovering fireworks from them. Correspondent
