Dacoits injure two brothers; take away cash, valuables in four hits

S A H I W A L : Unidentified criminals injured two brothers and took away cash andvaluables, including cattle heads, all worth overRs3 million, in strikes in different ruralareas of Sahiwal district.

As per police, in the first incident, three unknown armed dacoits critically injuredtwobrothers and took away Rs1.86 million in cash, besides gold, from a grocery shop at Chak 50/GD, Noor Shah, on Wednesday.

As per police, three armed criminals arrived at the grocery shop and took hostage the owners, Farooq and Amir.

The dacoits collected cash and gold from the shop and shot at and injured the brothers whenthey offered resistance. Theyescapedimmediately. Locals shifted the injured brothers to the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital where the condition ofone of them wassaid to be critical.

Similarly, unidentified dacoits snatched Rs8,000 cash and two mobile phones from the owner and customers at a shop at Chak 187/9-L.

As per police, the criminals snatched Rs3,000 from one customer and Rs2,000 from another.

In the third incident, unidentified dacoits took away two buffaloes and an ox from the outhouse of one Atiqur Rehman at Chak 97/9-L. As per the complainant, the stolen animals were worth Rs700,000.

In the fourth incident, armed dacoitsintercepted two bikers, Tahir Shahbaz and Umer, nearChak 44/12-L, and deprived them of Rs700,000 cash, two gold earrings and a costly watch. The cases were registered at different police stations.

Me a n w hile, Chichawatni Saddar police claimed to have arrested three suspects -Fasil Baloch, Ihsan Shaikh and Ikram for their alleged involvement in different cases of dacoity.

S E N T E N C E D : Regional Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Zia Ullah Khan on Thursday handed down 31-year rigorous imprisonment to a militant belonging to banned outfit Tehreek-iTaliban Pakistan (T TP).

The convict, Ali Akbar, was captured in an intelligence-based operation jointly conducted by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and law enforcement agencies at Chak 100/9-L onSahiwal-Arifwala Road on November 25, 2023.

The CTD personals had recovered explosive material, dry batteries, electronic devices and circuits, detonators, and cash from the convict. He was booked in a case (04/24)under sections 4 and 5 of Explosive Substance Act-1908 and Section 7 of Anti-Terrorist Act-1997 on the compliant of CTD Inspector Waseem Akhter.

Ali Akbar is a resident of DamiKore in Mohmand district, Khyber Agency, KP and had an important position within the TTP.
