MPC agrees to form jirga for peace, completion of uplift projects in Dir

LOWER DIR: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl Khall chapter arranged a multiparty conference at Khall here on Thursday.

The event was addressed by JUI-F district chief Sirajuddin, village council chairman Umar Hayat, PTI tehsil chairman Ashfaqur Rahim, PML-N divisional president and former provincial minister Malik Jehanzeb Khan, JI`s Akhunzada Kalimullah, PPP`s Mubarakzeb, Anjuman Tajiran Khall president Hameedur Rehman, Azhar Tagveem and others.

The MPC agreed to form a grand jirga for maintenance of peace, curbing drug abuse and collective struggle for completionof development projects. They complained about the excessive power outages and lack of funds for development projects.

They said that due to government apathy, the residents of Rabat and Khall had collected donations to rebuild a flood-damaged bridge over the Panjkora River on their own and they had started work on the Rs150 million project.

The MPC demanded a separate grid station in Khall, construction of a sports complex, provision of natural gas and functionalisation of all water supply schemes in Khall.

Meanwhile the JUI-F central deputy general secretaryMaulana Amjad Khan, during a conference at the Timergara Rest house, announced that the party wouldsoon launch a massive campaign against the government on the call of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The conference was arranged for the graduated seminaries students.

A total of 570 seminary students and 15 MPhil and PhD scholars were awarded with certificates, shields and prizes.

MEDICAL CENTRE: The overseas Pakistanis hailing from Lower Dir have demanded of the government to establish a medical center and an office for verification of fingerprints anywhere in Malakand division so that they can easily verify their documents and get vaccination certificates.

Speaking at a news conference in Timergara on Thursday, overseas Pakistanis president Haji Ameer Zaman, general secretaryengineer Kifayatullah, former MPA Saeed Gul, Haji Imtiaz Khan and others complained that the 2.5 million overseas Pakistanis belonging to Malakand division had no facility of a medical centre and office for verification of fingerprints in the region.

They said the number of overseas Pakistanis in Malakand was higher than any other region but despite this fact they suffered hard to visit Peshawar for petty issues. They said the overseas Pakistanis were sending remittances to the country for feeding their families.

The overseas representatives said that they had to travel to Peshawar and stay there for a night to visit the medical center and verify their fingerprints.
