Banker awarded death sentence for murdering colleague

SHIKARPUR: A man was sentenced to death for killing his colleague while they were serving with the Agriculture Development Bank and posted at its Shikarpur branch in July 2013. He was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs1 million.
Piyar Ali Buriro, an ADB officer, was found guilty of killing his colleague, Abdul Waheed Hajano, at the branch during working hours. Co-accused Taj Mohammad Buriro, a former UC nazim said to be a relative of the convict, was sentenced to six months imprisonment with a fine of Rs25,000 for helping the killer escape from the crime scene.
The case was registered at the Lakhi Gate police station.
On Tuesday, Shikarpur District and Sessions Judge Sohail Mohammad Leghari pronounced his verdict.
