MITHl: Former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Tuesday described as `dirty politics` the ruling party`s act of instituting an inquiry against him into alleged corruption, and said that such tactics could not intimidate him or other leaders of the Arbab group.
`We will remain steadfast in our principled stand against the corrupt rulers,` he said, adding that the PPP act was a desperate attempt to intimidate him.
Dr Arbab, in his statement issued here on Tuesday and later speaking to this reporter, said that he would move the judiciary if the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) went ahead with the `concocted` case of corruption and land-grabbing against him.
Dr Arbab, one of the key leaders of the anti-PPP Grand Democratic Alliance, said that the PPP-led provincial government had done nothing for Tharis or other people of Sindh over the past decade.
ACE circle officer at Mithi Safdar Ali Junejo had recently carried out a raid on the Kaloi mukhtiarkar`s office and seized revenue record after an inquiry into alleged corruption, land-grabbing and illegal occupation of a cattle farm near Kaloi town was instituted against him.
Mr Junejo told local reporters that the ACE officials concerned were screening the seized documents to establish as well whether Dr Arbab, while serving as the chief minister, had misused his powers to the benefit of himself or his associates.
He said that the probe was launched under the directives of his `high-ups`.
