`Weary and disappointed`

2023-03-14
NEW YORK: Sir M Zafrullah Khan, Pakistan Foreign Minister, `weary and disappointed` over the delay in settling the Kashmir issue before the Security Council, wrote to his wife in Karachi today [March 13] that he `did not know` when he could be returning to Pakistan, says a Reuter`s correspondent. He had been in America for nearly two months except for a week`s trip to London and had told his wife when he left Karachi that he expected to be home in about three weeks.

`Sir Zafrullah was busy writing his airmail letters when Reuter`s correspondent entered his two room suite on the twelfth floor of New York`s fashionable Barclay Hotel. ... Lifting his pen in emphasis he remarked `the Kashmir issue at the moment is causing a great deal of irritation and friction between India and Pakistan. I`m very hopeful, however, that once a settlement has been reached on this issue, a broad settlement with India on other outstanding problems will result. If a fair and acceptable settlement could be reached on the Kashmir question its main features could be applied to the Junagadh issue.` News agencies
