Four missing seminary students traced

MUZAFFARGARH: The Kotaddu police traced four students of a seminary on Monday, who went missing in Daira Din Pannah town of Kotaddu district on Sunday.

Complainant Abdul Aziz, the caretaker of the seminary, told the Daira Din Pannah police that students Muhammad Kashif, Muhammad Kamran, Muhammad Waseem and Shahzaib aged 10 to 13 years, were enrolled in the Siddiqui Madrassa.They all went out to meet their parents, but went missing. The station house officer registered a case and started aninvestigation.

A team headed by the Kotaddu sub-divisional police officer traced the four children within a day. Using modern policing techniques, the police found two students roaming in Kot Sultan in the Layyah district.

With their help, the police traced two other children and handed them over to their families.

The parents of the children expressed thankstothe police, while the police said they would investigate the incident in light of the children`s statements.

ACCIDENT: Two people died and seven other passengers were injured seriously in a car-rickshaw collision on the Chenab River bridge at Head Muhammedwala onMonday.

Rescue 1122 sources said that the collision left Manzoor Hussain and Sakina Mai, both rickshaw passengers, dead at the scene, while those injured were Sofia, Gulzaran, Sonia, Samina,Alisha and Waseem, also rickshaw passengers.

They were shifted to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan for treatment.

Most of them were in critical condition.

Paramedics said rickshaw passengers were going home after labour work and they all were from the Head Muhammadwala area.

Rescue 1122 officials and the police responded to the scene and started taking recuse and legal actions. Accident survivors said the collision occurred due to the rash driving of the car driver.
