BAHAWALPUR: The south Punjab police claimed on Monday have arrested an under-trial prisoner who had escaped from custody at DHQ hospitalKhanewalonSunday.
According to a press release issued here by south Punjab police PRO Ali Sukhera, prisoner Asif was brought to DHQ hospital Khanewal for treatment from where he managed his escape.
However, after issuing an alert by south Punjab Additional IG Maqsoodul Hassan, the police with the help of geo-fencing managed to arrest him within 24 hours.
After his re-arrest, he was lodged in theKhanewal police station, the release said.
B O D I E S RECOVERED: The personnel of Ahmedpur East Rescue 1122 claimed on Monday to have recovered the bodies of a man and his daughter from Pangnad Canal after three-day heetic search.
According to emergency official Abid Raheem, three days back Muhammad Saleem along with his five-yearold daughter Zoha Saleem committed suicide by jumping into Panjnad Canal due to financial strains.
On Monday, the rescuers recovered their bodies and handed them over to the family. The de ceased were laid to rest inlocalgraveyard.
