LAHORE: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on Thursday started investigation into the case of brutal torture of a class-IX student by some influential people for `honour` in Raiwind.
The case was handed over to the CIA on the directions of the Lahore capital city police officer after the chief minister took notice of the incident.
According to the police investigations so far, Aish Mohammad of Sundar was kidnapped by some six locals, including Mohammad Hanif, on Feb 27 for `honour`.
Hanif and his accomplices had chopped off his sexual organ besides depriving him of his eyesight by stabbing him with an ice pick.
CIA SP Tariq Mastaoi told Dawn that the case file was transferred to his department and he deputed a DSP level police officer to investigate it.
He said Saddar CIA DSP Khalid Farooq visited the family, including Aish Mohammad, and recorded their statements.
The SP said the CIA would arrest the main suspect after getting his bail status from the court concerned.
Meanwhile, the Child Protection Bureau Chairperson Saba Sadiq also visited the family on the direction of the chief minister.
She assured the family of proper treatment at Mayo Hospital.-Staff Reporter
