IAM a resident of Officers` Colony, Wah Cantt. Once this colony was considered a clean area of the Cantonment. But now garbage is found scattered all over the area, including the nullah passing through the colony. The nullah is now choked with garbage and stinks beyond human endurance.Thereis a dire needfor disposing of the garbage generated in the colony .
I request the Station Commander, Cantonment Executive Officer, Wah, to look into the problem and provide each resident polythene bags for collecting garbage on a daily basis from each house .
Also, the nullah flowing through Officers Colony is polluted with sewerage which can be checked by the sanitation staff of the CanttBoard.Itis also suggested that the nullah be reconstructed with stone or brick linings to ensure a smooth flow of the sewage. Since summer is at hand, there is always a danger of catching a dengue fever if the stagnant water is not removed at the earliest.
